Another round of games are coming your way! What did I buy this time? Too much, that’s what. Actually, I think I did pretty well. Let’s go ahead and hop into these October game pickups. If you did not read September’s, I recommend doing so. Let’s begin!
Switch

Super Mario Galaxy + Galaxy 2
So many People were torn over when it was announced due to (paid link) 3D All-Stars already containing (paid link) Super Mario Galaxy. Which is understandable, but then I’ve seen a lot of people just having fun after its release. I’m yet to start it myself but I’m happy to have it. Don’t have a (paid link) copy yet? Go grab one!

Gone Home
I already played and wrote my review for this game, but I’ll still say how good it is. The story is worth experiencing at least once.

Primal Survivors
I was playing this for a little while in my Games I’m Playing. Ultimately, it was put into the backlog recently. It’s a fun roguelike autoshooter, but I guess it just didn’t hit the spot like Army of Ruin or Twilight Survivors did.

Hades
I have played some of this in the past but never got that far. I grabbed it when it was on sale recently right before (paid link) Hades II dropped. I’ll get around to it eventually.

Billion Road
This game reminds me a lot of (paid link) Monopoly and (paid link) Fortune Street, but with some twists. You aren’t just buying property to have other people pay you. You’re buying property at different locations and collecting a yearly revenue off of it. On top of that, there are monsters to collect that offer you special abilities. Such as re-rolling the dice, doubling your money on certain spaces and so on.
Now I got this on sale for $4 amd have more than gotten my money’s worth. You can, however, buy a (paid link) physical copy if that’s more your style.
Switch 2

Pokemon Legends: Z-A
I have been having a great time with this. It may not be the best of the best, but it certainly is a fun ride. I have a few issues with it but also some good remarks too that I’ll be talking about in a later article. I did, however, just published an article with some tips for this game, as well as discussing when the game opens up and how the autosave might be a problem for some players.
Don’t already own a copy? Get it for the (paid links) Switch or Switch 2 today.
GBA

Yoshi’s Topsy Turvy
I wasn’t sure about this game. I’ve had the misinterpreted idea of how it played up until recently, which is cool since this looks like a game I’ll enjoy when I get to it.
Digimon Racing
Since Digimon is so relevant at the moment and my hype is ao high, I figured I would grab this since I’ve never played it before. Unfortunately, I did decide to wait for a little bit before I started playing it seriously.
Super Mario Bros.
This is the Japanese version of the game. I didn’t even order this, it came with something else I bought that I’ll be discussing down below. Now I think the seller gave me this due to a bit of a shipping issue we had, but I can’t confirm. However, since I believe that is the case, I totally think the seller, Pony Store Japan, is worth a shout out for being so cool to work with and throwing me an extra game in.
Steam

Digimon Story Time Stranger
I have been having such a great time with this one. If you’ve been following along in the Games I’m Playing articles, I’ve been playing it pretty steadily since its release date. I’m 25 hours in now and feel I’m halfway through the story or a little more than. By far the best Digimon game we’ve got in a long time. I did write some tips for anyone interested.
Don’t own it yet? Go get it on Steam, (paid links) PS5 or Xbox Series X.

Dokimon Quest
I thought this looked cool, being a monster catching game and all. It will be a little while before I jump into it though.
PS5

Silent Hill f
So I got my PS5 back in working order and thought I would treat myself with this game since everyone else kept saying how good it was. Unfortunately, it was one of the games I decided to throw into my backlog, but it will one day be played to its fullest. Don’t own a copy yet? Get it on the Steam, (paid links) PS5 or XSX.

Bendy and the Ink Machine
It’s sad that I literally just sold my (paid link) physical PS4 copy not long ago and here I am having to buy the game again. It happens. At least I have the PS5 version now, which we now also have (paid link) physical PS5 versions too along with a physical for (paid link) Bendy and the Dark Revival.
I’ve always loved the look of Bendy. An old cartoon studio, the view of it all. I’ve tried playing this game a few times but never finished it. I do plan to actually start this soom so be on lookout.
Systems

Gameboy Micro
I used to own one of these a few years back and then sold it. I’ve regretted it every since amd finally, after a conversation with my fellow authors Charle and Downs, I decided to buy one. This is where that copy of Mario came from, it was in the system.
Conclusion
I feel like I bought a lot this month but I really didn’t if you look at it. Still, some great games in here and I can’t wait to play them all and share my thoughts in the future. What did you get in October? Give us a shout over on our Facebook page and as usual, happy gaming!
