Yeah, you know the drill. I just wrote one of these for Digimon Story Time Stranger and now I’m going to do another for Pokemon. Those beginning few hours are fun, but maybe some guidance would be appreciated. Now, for the sake of establishing a timeline, I’m going to be giving tips for Mission 5 and backwards. Let’s get into these Pokemon Legends Z-A tips.
Catch Everything!
Look, I know some people really don’t care for the Pokedex, which is fair. However, much like (paid link) Pokemon Legends: Arceus, catching Pokemon actually increases the research level which gives out helpful TMs. So, catch every new Pokemon you spot. It isn’t as bad as Arceus where you had to complete research tasks. At least, not in the same way.
Do All Side Missions
I really love putting off side missions and playing the story. I’m pretty bad at ignoring their existence until I feel I’m ready for them, but this isn’t such a good idea in this game. Why? Because they actually give you helpful items and money, which are nice to have for the little amount of work you typically have to do.
There are also side missions that give you Pokemon or the opportunity to get one. Such as a shiny Mareep for example, which I now have added to my team. There’s others, like the three (paid links) X & Y starters too.
Retrieve Your Pokeballs!
Here’s a helpful tip you may or may not already know. Outside of every Pokemon Center, there is a man who actually retrieves the Pokeballs you throw and miss with. Pretty neat, yeah? He’s in a blue outfit, can’t miss him.

Conclusion
Have you bought Legends Z-A yet? Go grab a (paid links) Switch or Switch 2 copy if you haven’t. Just be aware of the autosave feature, since that can be a tad annoying. If you do get a copy, make sure to let us know how you’re enjoying it over on our Facebook page.
As always, happy gaming everyone.
