Another month, another round of way too many games. Welcome to my February 24 game pickups. We all know why we’re here so let’s hop in.
Steam

Palworld
This is one of the biggest talked about games over the past month. Unfortunately it has found itself in decline in players but the developers have been really cool about it and releasing amazing statements. I find myself playing this game on occasion, so picking it up every few days or so.
Commander Keen
I actually bought this on Charle’s recommendation, and it has been a blast from the past. I miss this style of games from the 90s. It’s a 2D side scrolling platformer. That’s about all I know so far.
Hero of Fate
This is another auto shooter like Vampire Survivors and Army of Ruin. I’ve only gone a couple rounds, and it doesn’t seem too difficult. The biggest difference is that you’ll be accepting to do these types of challenges, which is where your real rewards will come in.
Gameboy Color

Hime’s Quest
For anyone who doesn’t recognize this game, it was published by Crunchyroll and stars their mascot, Hime! She goes on an adventure in the year 1999, and…that’s about all I have at the moment. I’ve gotten my first sword, which looks and feels very much the same as Legend of Zelda in terms of when you swing it. That’s not a bad design either, I just thought it worthy to say.
Shantae
This is a series I’ve got some experience with, but it is so spread out. I’ve never actually beaten a single game, but I’ve played a few different ones. The original Shantae however is a game I have never touched, and I thought it would be a lot of fun to get a copy.
3DS

SMT: Devil Survivor Overclocked
Fun fact, this was one of my first 3DS games over ten years ago. I later sold it, and that’s been a bit of a regret since, but I’m happy to have it back. This isn’t exactly a series I’m all that familiar with, unless you count the Persona series. This specific entry just stood out to me, and I really felt like i wanted to give it another shot.
Switch

Kirby’s Return to Dreamland
This is a remake of the Wii title with the same name. I did play that one too, but it’s been so many years ago that I hardly remember it. I’ve only been playing this with a family member, and we’ve only made it to the second world, which is fine and all. I’m in no rush to beat the game, as who knows when the next Kirby game will drop.
Another Code Recollection
This was a remake that came out of a left field for pretty much everyone I think. The first game is known as Trace Memory in the United States, and was a DS only title. The second game was released in the UK on the Wii, but atlas, never got localized here until now. It was funny that it did too, and had great timing given that the announcement came just as I purchased my EU Wii. Both of these titles revolve around a girl named Ashley and a couple of mysteries that I won’t talk about further.
I don’t remember too much about the DS game, because I only made it to chapter 2 before getting stuck on a specific puzzle. I’m very excited to give it another go. Anyone looking for a nice mystery might be interested in (paid link) this one.
Red Colony Trilogy
Saw this and thought it looked interesting. They’re 2D side scrolling horror games, and well, I couldn’t resist. Unfortunately, I haven’t played any beyond the first 15 minutes from the first game.
PS3

Dengeki Bunko
I already owned this for the PS Vita, but I thought I would be happy to play it again on the PS3. I’ve booted it up and played a couple matches. It felt good to get back to it, and the character roster is decent too.
Tales of Xillia
Tales titles are hit or miss for me so far, but this was always one that had my interest. I’ve played roughly two hours in the past, but my memory of what happened isn’t very clear. I’m yet to start it yet, but perhaps soon.
Drakengard 3
I’m not too familiar with this series, but I also couldn’t pass it up given how much praise it usually receives. I’ve played a couple missions, and really enjoy the combat. The story so far is also pretty good, so I think I’ll have a lot of fun with this one.
PS4

Bioshock Collection
I can’t say how many times these games have come and gone out of my hands over the years, but I was a bit surprised that I didn’t actually own a copy for my personal collection, on any system. That’s what led to this, and I was actually very excited to jump back into Rapture. I’m not too far though, just the first 20 minutes or so, but I’ll be exploring one of my favorite video game locations all over again soon enough.
Shantae Risky’s Revenge & Seven Sirens
I haven’t touched either of these for the reasons I’ve already stated above. I want to start from the beginning.

Tales of Berseria
This was my first real entry into the Tales series, and it was a pretty wild start. I bought this when it released and pumped about ten hours into it before dropping for another game, and then later sold it. Well, here we go again. The start to this game really sets a very dark tone, one that I quite enjoy myself.
Remilore
This is a game I’ve been eyeing for a few years, but I really wanted a physical for. Well, this was the only PS4 copy I could find on Mercari so I jumped on it. Unfortunately I haven’t touched it yet.

The Park
I’ve actually owned and played this many years ago on a different Playstation account I had. Now I obviously bought it again, for cheap, and I’m expecting to play it soon. There will be a review afterwards.
Basically you play as a mother who went looking for your son’s teddy bear after you visited the amusement park earlier that day. When you go inside however, it isn’t such a friendly place after dark.
The Street 10
I’ve already talked about this one a bit already since I did review it, but it was developed by the same people behind Wire Lips so I thought I would take a chance.
Moonlighter
This is another one that I ended up double dipping on since I bought it last year in August. I thought it might be fun to play on a big screen and also I wanted the trophies. I’m working my way through the first dungeon now.
If you aren’t familiar with this game, it’s a mixture of genres. By day, you’re running your shop and selling to customers. Then, at night, you’ll explore dungeons to get the inventory you need for your shop. It’s a lot of fun.

Nerved
I’ve gone back and forth on this game for a long time, not wanting to commit to the purchase since ratings weren’t very good on it. I got it cheap enough that I simply don’t care if it’s not good, I just want to give it a try for myself.
The NightFall
Another title that I never could commit to. This one specifically because it usually runs $30 at full price and absolutely could not justify it. Thankfully I caught it on sale finally for $6 and thought I would give it a try.
With that said, I’ve only played the first few minutes and didn’t really get anywhere. This will be one I revisit in the near future for a more serious playthrough.
The Sealed Ampoule
This looked like an interesting title. You play as a new Witch who bought her first spell book, a used one at that. Upon exploring the dungeon, you realize the last owner didn’t clean it and now it’s crawling with monsters. You’ll have to knock the enemies out and advance through floors to gain EXP and level your Witch powers.
Stardew Valley
I’ve played this game a lot over the years, and I already owned the Switch version, but….I couldn’t resist. I’m only about 7 or 8 days into Spring of the first year, kind of just playing for a few minutes between other games.
PS5

Shantae Risky’s Revenge & 1/2 Genie Hero
This is the same as the titles above, I haven’t touched them yet.
Evoland
I know I just bought this game recently, but I honestly have been trying to purchase games on the system I really want the first time around, and stop double dipping. I’ve played for 30 minutes or so, and am about halfway back to where I was.
Death Motel
I thought this looked interesting and grabbed it since it was cheap. Unfortunately I haven’t actually spent any time with it yet.
Conclusion
I got too many games this month, and didn’t really stick too well to my goals for 2024. Next month won’t have as many pickups, so be aware of that. I hope someone finds a game they are interested in! Happy gaming and thanks for reading my February 24 game pickups.
