Intro

It’s no secret that the Dead Space remake has been a success. Tons of people are playing it, and for damn good reason. I’ve played through myself and currently am on chapter 3 of NG+, which has been fun, but the question keeps popping up in my head…should I have bought it at $70?

Dead Space Made Better

Don’t get me wrong, it is absolutely stunning. The graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is very fluent and easy to get into, less clunky than the OG. Even the story has been revamped in different ways with certain characters now actually being present, and not dead upon arrival. We actually meet Elizabeth Cross and Jacob Temple for gosh sakes. However….playing this game so many times in the past did leave something void for me.

The story is still the same at its core, which is totally fine, but if you’ve played it a few times, you know what to expect. The real question here is it worth $70 to gamers who have already experienced it? I’m not sure. Even myself, being a huge Dead Space fan, and I mean I have played the OG 10+ times since its release….would I have been happier spending $40? Now, I’ve seen other people question the same on different media sites, while others think $70 is more than justifiable. Should you buy the game now or wait?

Verdict

I’m in no way going against the work Motive put into this game. It’s absolutely awesome and will be my sure-fire way to play the game from here on out, but are the updates worth the cost? I guess that’s for every individual to question. As for myself, I’ve already spent the money and had a good time; so my decision has been made.
