Welp, June has come and gone for me, and I have very few pickups to show for it. I’ve finally started to cut back and it feels good honestly. Though, I didn’t have time to even play these for very long. I’ll try to give my opinion as best I can. If you enjoy this style of blog, please do check May’s pickups as well.

Let’s get started.

Steam

20 Minutes Till Dawn

This is another roguelite in the same likeness as Vampire Survivors, but also a bit different. You’ll choose a single weapon to start with, and then have the chance to get more as you level up. Characters can start with different weapons. They are not locked in with who you choose to play as. Each character also has a special quality to them as well, such as one starts with higher hearts than the others or the one I use shoots fire after so many shots.

Switch

Pokemon OLED Switch System

I usually would bundle systems separately, but I thought this would overall be easier. I never really cared too much about having another Switch, as I already owned the Animal Crossing edition and also the Pokemon Sword & Shield Switch Lite, but after falling back in love with Paldea, I thought I would grab this now before it was too late or it got more expensive. Basically, I knew I would regret it in the future.

I moved my Violet save file to this Switch, and also started playing Brilliant Diamonc on it as well. The difference between the OLED and the LCD are pretty noticeable, as the color really pop and are vibrant with this new system. It’s definitely a nice upgrade.

Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door

I haven’t been able to play much of this unfortunately. I’ve had too many distractions as of late, but I’m very happy to actually have it on the (paid link) Switch, and I’ve seen a lot of happy people online as well.

Scarlet Tower

Yep, you guessed it, another roguelite. Woo! This one has been my main game for the past few weeks when I have been able to play anything. It has a level scaler that you can unlock harder modes of the same stage, with each level being unlocked as you survive the one before it.

Mars Colonization Expedition

This is, if you learnt from the title, is a game where we colonize Mars. Unfortunately, I haven’t even gotten to play this one for even a minute.

PS4

Amnesia Collection

I regret to say I haven’t been able to try this one again. I played the first game very briefly many years ago, but I didn’t own it any longer. This is on sale, so I figured I would go for it.

Perception

I’ve tried playing this before on the Switch and really enjoyed what I did play. That’s been some years back, and I thought starting fresh would be nice.

You play as a blind woman who is in a house of memories and horrors. You’ll use echo sounds to figure out where you are and also your enemies. It’s a neat concept. You cannot fight back, but you can hide.

That’s about all I have for this, since I don’t want to spoil any of the story I do remember.

Nova-111

Downs actually introduced me to this game many years ago on the Vita. I no longer own that version anymore, which is why I decided to grab the PS4 version while it was so cheap.

You play as ship, exploring different levels and having to fight enemies. The game is turn based, meaning every move you make, the enemy in the room makes one after you do. Similar to games like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon, if that helps any.

That’s about all I really remember at this moment, as I haven’t been able to play this any yet. It’s unfortunate, but life happens.

Conclusion

While I didn’t buy many games in June, the system definitely made up for the cost. It’s been a nice upgrade though and worth it too. With all that said, I plan to buy about this many games in the next few months or maybe less. It’s nice to see the amount shrink, and it makes these blogs much easier to write.

I hope you all enjoyed though, and maybe found a new game for yourselves. I’ll see you next time.
