That time of the month again, where I show you all the games I bought and won’t get to play for the next three years. That’s probably true too, sadly. Anyway though, I didn’t do any better at keeping the amount of games down, but at least I have some fun ones to chat about. So, let’s go over my May 24 game pickups. Also, if you haven’t checked out April‘s, do that.

PS2

Ratchet: Deadlocked

I never had the chance to try this game, so here we are.

PS3

Ducktales Remastered

I’ve wanted to give this a go for years now, but I never would commit. Unfortunately, I died on the first level and must redo it all, so I haven’t quite started my journey yet.

Ratchet & Clank Games

If you can’t tell, I’ve been in a big R&C mood. I’ve played the games since the first one on the PS2, and have been a fan since. The only ones I have never beaten would be the three above that aren’t the trilogy. I’m already starting with Quest for Booty, and I’ll work my way up from there.

PS4

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising

Falling all the hype of (paid link) 100 Heroes releasing, I thought I would give a prequel a go.

Gleamlight

I already had this on the Switch, but i wanted some trophies.

Lumini

A friend suggested this to me right before the game released, and I never looked too far into it. However I caught it on sale for really cheap, so I figured I would grab it and play later.

Ys Origins

I’ve had this on my list ever since I started collecting the Ys series last year. I wanted to initially get a physical copy, but after seeing this on sale digitally multiple times, I caved. This will be setting in my backlog for a bit until I am able to get back to Ys VIII.

I also wrote a review for Ys IX, if interested.

Deer God

I’m not sure why this one caught my interest exactly, but I thought it looked interesting enough, and for a dollar, it seemed alright. I haven’t been able to actually try it yet though.

Sagebrush

I know I bought this somewhat recently for the Nintendo Switch, but I couldn’t pass it up for $.49, especially with trophy support. I never did get far into it either, so I think this will be a fun, fresh experience for when I do get to play it.

PS5

Sea of Stars

When I first saw this game, I really wanted to hold off for a (paid link) physical, but gave in to all the posts I saw online. That led me to buying the Switch version, digitally, and playing about 10 hours of it or something around those lines. Atlas, I drifted away to other titles, but I thought it would be nice to give the game a 2nd chance, and with the PS5 since that really is my main system.

Eiyuden Chronicle: 100 Heroes

I haven’t touched this yet due to buying the prequel.

Stellar Blade

I don’t have too much to say about (paid link) Stellar Blade. A lot of people seemed happy with it, and I enjoyed what I did play, but I’m not far at all. I actually got stuck on the first boss and then got sidetracked by the other games I bought.

Sand Land

If the art style for this game looks familiar to you in any way, it should. It’s by the designer behind Dragon Ball, who has unfortunately passed away. It gives me some Blue Dragon vibes, which automatically is a pro. I’ve barely touched it yet, so I’ll leave it at that.

Dementium

If I knew this was coming to the PS5 when I bought the Switch version, I would have waited, but oh well. I’m not caught up with where I was, only at the start of chapter 4, but it’s been a fun ride so far.

Goodbye World

I can’t say I know too much about this game other than what you can find on the store page. I don’t remember any posts at the time it came out, but that may just be because of the specific groups I’m in.

Forest Grove

A game where we try to find a missing person? I’m down. I love mysteries, and this seemed right up my alley.

Silence: The House

I haven’t gotten to try any of this yet, but it seemed like a cool spooky visual novel.

Nexomon

The first couple of times I’ve tried to play the first Nexomom game didn’t stick. This time though, I’m further than I was ever before, and I’m also enjoying it more too. I wrote a blog discussing this series, so perhaps look at that too if you haven’t heard of Nexomon before.

Dungeons and Goblins

I already bought this once for the Switch, and found out it had a bug that wouldn’t let me get past a certain point. Well, here we are again, and it’s still plagued by bugs. Fortunately, I’ve gotten all the trophies already, so my main goal now is to get through enough of it to write a review.

Switch

Pokemon Violet

After watching what is available of Pokemon Horizons, I really wanted to play Pokemon again. More specifically, I wanted to roam Paldea. While I’ve already played through a majority of Scarlet, which you can see my original team for that game here, I really wanted to start fresh.

I’m currently about 5 hours in, and have been catching all the mons. Even with a completed Pokedex on Scarlet, I still enjoy doing it. Currently, I’m deciding to play with Pokemon that I wouldn’t ordinarily use. It’s been fun so far.

King Krieg Survivors

I’ve already written out an entire review for this game, so I recommend checking that one. All I’ll give for this one is that it’s a roguelike auto shooter like Vampire Survivors.

Sprout Valley

Another one I unfortunately haven’t played much of.

Conclusion

Obviously my plan to purchase less games this year hasn’t gone accordingly, but I’m planning to shave it back down steering next month. We will see how that goes. In the meantime, look forward to some more blogs.
