A Personal Favorite Pokemon List

The Pokemon series has been a huge part of my life ever since I was 6 years old, and I’m 29 now, still loving it. I’ve seen it all, from Red up to the latest (paid links) Scarlet & Violet, and the most recently shown Legends Z-A announcement. Over all the years, I’ve come up with a list of Pokemon who seem to find their way into my team, one way or another. That brings us to this list, which is discussing my favorite Pokemon from across the series.

How could I not start with the very Pokemon I call a partner. I have trained a female with a specific name over 3 different generations now, and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. I love this specific mon because of its origins.

It’s a discarded doll. How sad but also intriguing.

Another one that I’ve always thought looked ever since I first saw it. Though it might not be a powerhouse, I still enjoy its speed and have trained one multiple times. It’s also my main in (paid link) Pokken.

Absol

The Pokemon who brings disaster or predicts it, depending on who you ask. I nicknamed one of these Lady Death one time, and I always train one if it’s available. Absol has a decent attack, but mediocre stats overall. The Mega Evolution form makes up for it in some ways.

There’s just something about this one that I like. From the first time I was able to get it in Gen 2, I made it a part of every single play through. Now, It doesn’t make it into every team in every game it is available in, but there’s usually one found in my box somewhere. I think I just enjoy the look of the Pokemon itself. Its stats aren’t entirely that special, it’s more of a preference than something actually useful in, let’s say, a competitive battle.

Although it might not be a great mon by today’s standards, but back in generation 3, this was a must have for my personal team. The fighting type moves it learnt came in handy a few different times. Plus I just overall like the look of it.

Milotic

This was a bit of a legend back in generation 3 when it came out. No one at my school could ever find one in the abysmal setup they had for Feebas back then. Trying to find that specific square or two it shown up in just was a nightmare. I’m glad it is a more available Pokemon in today’s games, and I even trained one in Scarlet because why wouldn’t I?

Lopunny

This one I adopted from my best friend, since she used to, and kind of still is, her partner Pokemon. I decided to use one, just for the heck of it in Omega Ruby, and found out I actually really enjoyed it. Mine is also a female, but the name is pending as far as nicknames go. Perhaps this is just a favorite due to memories, but I’ll take that.

Mewtwo

I’m not sure how I couldn’t put this one on the list given its backstory. I always enjoy lore and legends in video games, such as Lavender Town, so when thinking over Mewtwo’s origin story, I always have fun with it. The first movie will always be a favorite too.

Although this one is very new to the series, only being introduced in generation 9, I quickly found that I wouldn’t remove it from my team and it had the most use out of all my other mons. Something about the looks really stuck with me, perhaps the mask it wears. Couple that with the fact that I love cats, and well, I guess it just fit.

It’s also worthy to note that it’s a pretty powerful mon too, having some high attack and speed if EV & IV trained. Mine is only EV, but I can imagine how well an IV mon would look.

Conclusion

With over 1,000 Pokemon in the universe, this list could obviously be bigger than it is, but I’m sticking by with what I’ve said for now. These are my current list of favorite Pokemon, and I’m happy for each one’s existence. Do you have your own list? Well, I hope I made you think about it at least.
