Christmas Gifts from 2023

Well that special day has come and gone, and I hope everyone had a great time. I enjoyed having the family around, and playing all types of games with them, after the gift opening that is. That’s what brings me here though, gifts. I want to talk about Christmas gifts from 2023, and more specifically, mine.

Video Games

As you can see, I got one game and one system. You could argue that the Playstation Portal is more of a streaming device, which is fair. For this blog though, I’ll be calling it a system. I cannot say I had an immediate interest in it when it dropped last month, but it grew on me.

Sometimes, I really don’t feel like having to clear my living space up just to sit in front of the TV to play. For the record, I run a store out of my room on top of writing blogs here. It’s really nice to now have the option to just play where I want. As of right now, I’ve only tested it using two games, neither of which were very demanding.

I haven’t gotten to install (paid link) P5T yet, but I’m eager to do so, and I also want to see how it plays on the Portal. Also, I want to point out that I understand that using the Portal might essentially be the same as just having a Switch version, but I don’t know, it has more appeal to it for me.

Books

I had never heard of the top two books before, but each seemed interesting. Specifically, Hanging House (paid link) really caught my attention, and I even began reading it the same night. I’m always a sucker for a book with ghosts.

Fourth Wing was a gift from my sister, whom has been really wanting me to read it. Now, as she said, I have no excuse not to.

Gift Cards

I was going to leave this section out, but I’ll touch on it briefly. This year, I got a $50 Amazom card and a $20 Steam card. I have already spent both. What did I buy though? That’s for a future blog.

Movies

The two (paid link) Pokemon movies I have never seen before. It isn’t that I never wanted to, but I don’t watch a lot of movies nor TV in general. However, I am happy to have the option to, and will take advantage of that in the near future.

I haven’t seen any of the horror movies shown in this picture. I don’t even know too much about them, but I do love horror so I hope they deliver a decent experience.

Final Words

I hope everyone had a great Christmas, and got everything they wanted. Gifts are nice, but I do want to just point this out too. Family gathering and enjoying each other’s company is priceless, so if you did not get exactly what you wanted, don’t be upset about it. Just remember that they do love you, and they probably tried their best.
