Ah, Dead Space, such fond memories of getting terrified exploring the USG Ishimura and The Sprawl. There’s been quite a few scares to go around, but which game has the best? Today, we’re doing a Dead Space games ranked talk, from worst to best.

Dead Space 3

I feel like almost everyone knew this would be here. How could it not? The game went completely away from the horror genre, taking in all the action and leaving a lot to be desired.

I had fun with the game, I won’t deny that, but all in all, it was a downward spiral for the entire series. It took years before we got another entry, which was the remake of the first game that just arrived this year.

Dead Space Extraction

You all didn’t really believe this would just be mainline entries, did you? Extraction was a Wii game that was eventually brought to the PS3, and took place on Aegis 7 prior to the events of the first Dead Space. The gameplay differed from the mainline games, changing it up as an on rails shooter.

You’re tasked with getting off Aegis 7 after the Marker is extracted, and Necromorphs begin to terrorize the colonists. This one is actually pretty fun, and even though it is fully playable on the PS3, I recommend the Wii version.

Dead Space 2

The 2nd entry into the Dead Space series took everything the first got did, and improved on it. A wider scale of a creepy place to explore, polished combat and way more suits. So why is it #2 in my books? Well, the game is overall amazing, and I have high hopes for a remake, but…

Dead Space

You can’t get better than this for me. The atmosphere tied in with that feeling of complete isolation upon the Ishimura made it all more real. The original game was amazing, but the remake being totally open enhances that scare factor. The ship just has everything necessary to haunt your nightmares.

I did a review for the remake early this year, and I encourage everyone to go read it.

Quick Mention…

I never was able to play Ignition nor Dead Space Mobile, which had its own storyline before the events of the 2nd game.
