As if I have not already talked about this game enough, here’s another one. I’ve recently spent some time doing this with my nephew, I wanted to give my official Vampire Survivors co-op review.

The Good
It’s a fun experience to hope in with 1-3 of your friends or family members and just stay alive for as long as possible. It also adds a layer of difficulty, because every level up alternates between players. So for my experience, I would get to level something and then my nephew would be allowed to choose next. They also included an item that levels a random item for all players.
The timer stays the same, capping out at 30 minutes, but we’ve never successfully made it that far, because the difficulty is higher. With alternating upgrades, and also having to choose who wants what, the game becomes a challenge. Even after 4 or 5 attempts at doing this, the highest we ever made it to was perhaps level 30.
altertanively, when I play alone, I can last for the whole 30 minutes (usually) and struggle only somewhat.
The Bad
Although you might believe the difficulty hike could be either good or bad, depending on how it is seen individually, I only have one mechanic to mention here. The camera always focuses on player one as you play. So, for example, if player 1 was to die or you were to become separated between enemies, then you get sort of stuck where you are.
This happened a few different times, and it was unfortunately frustrating. Granted, I’m not sure how to fix this beyond doing split screen, but something could be done.
The Verdict
It’s worthy to note that this is something already included within the game. It’s fun to play with friends if you’re looking to have a good time. If you’re actually looking to unlock new game items or rack up on cash, then playing solo is still the way to go.
Thanks for reading my Vampire Survivors co-op review, and don’t forget to read my review for the main game.
