June has come and gone, and with it, another round of games found themselves either in my hands, the mailbox or being downloaded. If you haven’t checked out the previous month’s blogs, please do. Here is May’s, which shows some other games that ties into this month’s. Let’s get into my June game pickups.

PS4

Bendy and the Ink Machine

I’ve actually owned this game about three times on three different systems. Hopefully this will be the last time I purchase it too. I really loved the art style the first time I played, and that love never quite left.

I played over 50% of the game on the Xbox One, but then lost my option to play, unfortunately. So here we are, about to jump down the rabbit hole once more and hopefully finish.

Ys Memories of Celceta

Following all my Ys purchasing from last month, I managed to snag this one at a decent price, sealed, and have put a bit over 3 hours into it. The game isn’t as polished as (paid link) Ys IX, nor Ys VIII for that matter, but still pretty solid.

This is a remake of Ys IV, for the record.

PS5

Cozy Grove

I’m yet to spend too much time with this one yet. I’ve just started, and have spoken to a few ghostly residents, and did a couple quests. Nor sure what this game is all about, but I’ll be sure to spend time with it more in the near future.

PSVR 2

Walkabout Mini Golf

I’ve played through a couple courses, and I definitely love it. They make the holes harder as you go along, and I…sort of suck at it currently. I bought the Whole in One package so I have the DLC courses too.

Cosmodread

After a couple rounds in this game, each lasting about 10 minutes each, I’ve come to realize a few things…

1. I sort of suck at staying alive currently.

2. The game has a nice, eerie atmosphere with plenty of sounds to keep you on your toes. Is the monster behind that door? Another room? Same room? Better be careful.

3. It’s a lot of fun.

The game takes place on a spaceship, where you have set injections to complete. However, there are no checkpoints, so if you die, you die. It’s a roguelike, so it’s what you should expect going into it. There are different blueprints to find and unlock, allowing for different items to be built, such as armor.

I’ve only managed to get the beginning weapon, a crossbow, but you do unlock others and can even select your starting weapon before each run. The map actually unlocks as you play, and you can see it before the start of each run too, but it is also randomized each time as well.

PSP

Ys: The Oath in Felghana

A remake of the 3rd Ys game, Wanderer’s of Ys. This was before the series introduced party members, and had Adol by himself. I’ve only played a couple minutes and experienced my first fight this way. I am curious to see how the rest of the game is, but not yet.

I just finished Ys IX, and my review can be found here. Worth checking out.

Switch

Fishing Vacation

I recently wrote a blog about this game, so I won’t spend too long on it, but I believe the game is a great deal at its price. Unfortunately, I still haven’t gone back to find the other key, but I know I will soon. I want to see it all.

Final Words

Lots of good ones here. My Ys collection has grown and as a hint for the next blog…I only require one more game to have them all. That covers it for my June game pickups though, so until next time.
