To all the gamers out there that owned a GameBoy, do you ever feel the need to relive some of that Nostalgia? Well, here is a great game to give you the thrills, and it’s on the Switch, go figure. Fishing vacation is a love letter to GameBoy fans.
Classic Gameboy Background
You know that nice green background we’re all used to from that era? Oh yeah, it’s present. You can change the shading if you want, but I like it as is. There’s also a background to where it appears you’re playing on a Gameboy itself.
Short but Sweet
You are given 3 days to fish with your friend, which what you caught is logged in a book inside the cabin. The beautiful part about this game, and what caught my attention the most, was it is a mystery. Where is the uncle? Why is your friend getting creeped out? I won’t spoil anything, but can you find all 3 keys to the locks on the cellar door?
The game takes 20-30 minutes to play fully. There are four endings (A,B,C,D) which require you making certain choices to get them all. I have, at the current moment, have only obtained ending B, but am aware how to get the others.
Day 1 goes as planned, you and your friend enjoy a nice day fishing out on the lake, come back to the cabin and sleep. The 2nd day is when everything begins to take a darker turn. You start to find the keys, which I won’t spoil how, and there seems to be something lurking around you.
Day 3 is the make or break it. If you’ve managed to find the other 2 keys, and then get the third, you have a chance to unlock ending A by opening the cellar door, and exploring the contents inside.

This game can be found on both Steam and the Switch for a sweet low price of $1.99! It’s worth it too, in my opinion. I’ve played through the game about 5 times now, trying to get those other endings, and I am not stopping until I see every one of them. If this game captures your interest, and you want something eerie and short to play, then this is it.
