Anyone played this game? Heard of it? Oh guys and girls, buckle in then, because we’re going to be discuss just why Pokemon Masters is equally addicting, and then, we’ll discuss why I had to quit playing.
From the Start…
If you haven’t played this game nor know what it is even about, well here it goes. Think of a Pokemon gacha game where you pull Pokemon trainers who have a designated Pokemon partner to use in your team of 3. They all have different roles, such as support, special attack and physical attack.
What was so addicting was not knowing what you could pull. Was it going to be another 3 star? 5? Maybe that timed pull with the Pokemon you’re just “dying” to have? For me, the first Pokemon that got me like that, wanting that special event pull, was Banette. My partner mon on all my games, the one I’ve been traveling with consistently across my journeys.
It was really when I started spending money to get the points needed for these pills that it became a problem. That’s the bit about gacha games too, if you aren’t aware. They start off free, but then reel you in with “oh if you buy this, you’ll get X amount of pulls” or whatever they’re offering.
What Else Kept Me Addicted?
So this game isn’t just about pulls, there’s battles too, because what’s Pokemon without some form of battling and leveling up? There you have it too. It was the battles. You had the story to work through, but after that, they kept bringing battle the battle villa, which you tested you strength, trying to climb through thirty floors you could say, with only using 9 trainers. Now, this consisted of multiple battles, and you had a set number of days to actually complete it.up?
On top of that, you had a certain amount of stamina that could be used daily. It regenerated slowly, but you got more of it to use as you gained trainer levels. This game sort of has a lot going on, so you might be better off looking at videos or even trying it yourself.
Why I Quit
After playing for about 8 months, I deleted the app. Why was this? For several reasons actually.
1. My girlfriend quit playing because she didn’t get May and Lopunny, who is her partner mon. After she got rid of it, I found that I didn’t have much reason to play either.
2. Despite what I just said, I did try to continue. Only, the game has some glitches, where it wouldn’t let me in the game. It kept logging me out or saying there was an “error” and couldn’t access my data.
Conclusion:
If you’re looking for a Pokemon game that can be fun and addicting, this honestly might suit you well. However, be strong enough to not spend $$$ like I did, unless you’re actually okay with it. Also, make sure to back up your account with a Nintendo ID, because it makes recovery a lot easier if something were to happen.
