The Switch has been out for just over 6 years now, and we have seen plenty of great games pop out in that time. A few (paid link) Kirby games, Zelda, Mario and all that you would probably expect to find on the system. We also just received (paid link) Tears of the Kingdom, which is looking absolutely stunning! However, I wanted to actually discuss my experience with the system. My first Nintendo Switch experience when it launched, and how it may have differed a bit from others around that time.

I Am Setsuna
For some reason, I was incredibly hyped about playing this. I had it on the PS4 and couldn’t get into it, but I just really wanted to give it a 2nd chance on the new system. It didn’t disappoint.
It took about a week before I beat it, but I was very much in awe of the ability to flawlessly swap from handheld to dock. I played this game in a good bit of both, taking advantage of fact that a low battery didn’t phase my game time.
Afterwards…
Binding of Isaac came out not too long after I beat I Am Setsuna and I gave that a whirl too. I wasn’t very good at the game though, and it was basically ditched. Soon, we had (paid link) Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, which I have spent a decent amount of time on.
Nowadays…
Despite the popularity of the system, I mainly use it for exclusives and the occasional RPG. I play in handheld mode 95% of the time, so my philosophy is that if I’m going to play it in dock mode, then I may as well buy it on a different system.
I’m not sure what the future holds the system at this given moment, since it is in its 6th year, but I know I’ll still be playing it for a good many years to follow.
