Well this month surely flew by. Though I did end my pickups a tad early, I’m excited to discuss the games I bought and have been able to play. Let’s get into my April 23 Game Pickups.

PS2

Siren

This is amongst one of the best PS2 horror games, highly regarded for letting the player have insight into the enemies’ vision, allowing for a strategic approach to either hiding or planning an attack.

Though I haven’t played much of this yet, I have heard and seem plenty about it. It will most likely set on the backlog for a bit, since I’m in the middle of Fatal Frame III.

PS3

Hyperdimension Neptunia MK2

I seem to have a love/hate relationship with these games, in a form anyway. More on that in a bit, but I picked this up since it was my most played and favorite out of the series. I did use to own all the PS3 games, some Vita titles, PS4 and the like.

PS4

Signalis

I picked this up after a lot of positive remarks were made in a Facebook group I’m in. I haven’t played very much of it yet, just a few minutes, so I won’t pass judgment. Expect a future blog for this one.

Also though, if interested, (paid link) Amazon has copies.

Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection

Try saying that title three times fast. Anyway, if you aren’t aware of this game, it takes all 10 Battle Network games and bundled them together in two different volumes. No worries, both volumes are on the disc, but yeah, considering some of these games are $50+, it’s a good deal.

I’ve started the first game, played about 35 minutes currently.

Amazon (paid link) has copies still!

PS5

Cult of the Lamb

I’ve already said so much about this game, so I’ll leave off with this:

It’s a bit of Animal Crossing mixed with a rogue-like dungeon exploring aspect. It’s a fairly cheap game, and is worth every penny. If interested, check out the review for this one.

Neptunia ReVerse

Alright, so let’s discuss what I mentioned above. I’ve owned a bits of this series off and on over the years. For some reason, I never could actually stick with it though. Also, for the ones who aren’t aware, this is a remake for the first game.

From what I know, this specific version has two modes to play in. One which is the normal way to play the game. The other one allows for 24 characters to be available from the start, allowing for a different experience and the battles have been balanced out to meet the adjustment.

Surprisingly, this is still available on (paid link) Amazon if anyone is interested.

White Day

I know, I’ve talked about this game how many times by now? Maybe I’m just trying to hype myself up to try it again. Anyway, if you haven’t, you can find this game and more discussed in my 7 Horror Games blog and then again in my a PS5 PSVR 2 blog.

Moving on though, I went ahead and bought the PS5 version, since I figured the upgrade be nice, and maybe it really would get me to play. It hasn’t, yet, but I’ve got a few different games going. Anyone interested, Amazon does have (paid link) PS4 & (paid link) PS5 copies for sale. Worth checking out.

PSVR 2

Across the Valley

I was pretty excited for this game, but unfortunately it has not been played. Okay, a couple minutes, but I got annoyed by the teleportation controls they gave it. It killed it immediately. I do want to give it a second chance, but it won’t be anytime soon.

Conclusion

April definitely gave me some good games, and May is already shaping up to be doing the same. I’m already contemplating playing White Day real hard…perhaps a future blog will be seen soon.
