Since everyone is trying to beat the game in under 4 hours and release Elpis, I thought I would give a rundown of how I did it. These Resident Evil Requiem speedrun tips are assuming you’ve already completed the story at least once. Let’s begin.

1. Only Grab Essential Items

Ignore the items you know you don’t need. For example, if you’re playing on casual, you only really need three antique coins to get the upgrade to Grace’s inventory space. Other than that? Don’t grab it. Do you really need to stop and get blood? Absolutely not. Plenty of people have been able to do speed runs without collecting any at all and so can you. Make a zip line through all the areas you know you need, the essential items and ignore everything else that’s questionable.

2. Run!

Don’t stop. Don’t bother with the zombies, don’t have unnecessary fights and book it everywhere. Even a few seconds add up overtime and every second counts, literally.

3. Keep Multiple Saves

In case you do a section that you feel you took too long, keep separate saves to allow you the chance to try again. I feel this is especially true in Leon’s section in Raccoon City. That place really turned me around and gave me some trouble, but if you do it a couple times and then reload your save, you’ll have a better idea of where to run around to, ignoring the parts that aren’t important.

4. Pause the Game and Skip Cutscenes for Time

So, the game actually does not count the time that you pause. This can help you think about your route and plan ahead. It also helps if you skip cutscenes, as that also takes time away that it would normally count.

Optional Tips

While I feel the above tips are more essential to hitting your time frame, these are going to be tips that you’re welcome to use but aren’t necessary. I thought I would include them in their own section so consider these Resident Evil Requiem speedrun optional tips.

5. Play in First Person Mode

While this isn’t necessary, the game does play easier in first person if you’re trying to do a speedrun. An example of this would be Grace’s panic running and tripping all over herself in third person. This costs time you don’t have. These animations don’t happen when in first.

6. Play on Casual

To make your journey less problematic by dying or running out of bullets, you could always play as on Casual. This should automatically speed you up as it’s designed for an easier time with less headaches. I won’t say you can’t die but you’ll be a lot less concerned about it.

7. Unlock Infinite Ammo

This is easier said than done but it overall isn’t complicated. At the beginning of the article, I mentioned that people had done no blood collecting, no healing and the speedrun all at once. I tried this but unfortunately failed by 25 minutes. However, I still completed the other two tasks which netted me 70K CP which I used 50K for infinite ammo. This allowed me to not worry about scrounging for ammunition and just breeze my way through as I pleased.

Conclusion
