August (25) Game Pickups

August flew by and I have a feeling the rest of the year will as well. Soon, we’ll be discussing what I thought my best pickups of the year were. Now, let’s get started with these game pickups.

Steam

Lake

I’ve always wanted to give this game a chance but I never could score it cheap enough. I suppose now is my chance.

No Place Like Home

I’ve been eyeing this for the last couple months but I wasn’t convinced that I wanted to spend very much on it. Well, I got it as part of a bundle from Fanatical, so I get the chance to try it without much worry of money lost.

Pixelshire

I’ve never seen this game until now, but it looks promising. Unfortunately, I haven’t started it yet so I don’t have any more to say on it.

Jurassic World Evolution 2

My nephew has been trying to get me to play this game for months now. I caught it on sale for real cheap so I snatched it, but it will still be a bit until I start.

Streamer Life Simulator 2

I’ve never played the first game but I know of it. I got it as part of the bundle with Jurassic, so I figured why not? You’re recording videos, making money, upgrading your equipment to make more money and so on. It seemed to my alley.

Switch

Geometry Survivor

I’ve been playing this one off and on for about a week now. It isn’t too bad, kind of just simple but still fun. Also, another roguelike auto-shooter. Surprise.

20 Minutes Till Dawn

I already owned this on Steam but as my Switch is easier to take with me, I thought I would go ahead and buy it again. This is another roguelike auto-shooter and one I hope to review in the near future.

Tetris Effect Connected

I just reviewed this game so go check that out. This is a Tetris title worthy of playing, but I would wait for a sale like I did. The game usually runs $40 (USD) but I got it for half, so $20 (USD).

The House of the Dead: Remake

I talked about this in one of my Switch sales articles and decided I would snatch it up. Thankfully, it was exactly what I needed. This is not my typical genre of game, so it’s been a really nice change. I’ve also never played the original, so it makes this even better.

Final Words

I didn’t pick up as many titles for August, which has been pretty refreshing. It’s given me a chance to start some games on my backlog, which you can now see what games I’m playing as part of a weekly article I’ll be writing and publishing every Monday. If you pick any of these up for yourself, then please give us a shout on one of our social medias.

As usual, happy gaming.
