I did one of these last year and I thought I would do another. Now, unfortunately this list is smaller, but the games chosen are ones I am really looking forward to getting my hands on so, let’s discuss these upcoming games in 2025.

Cronos: The New Dawn

Systems: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 & PC

Release Date: September 5th

Being the big fan of (paid link) Dead Space that I am, obviously this game was to catch my attention. I never did actually play the (paid link) Silent Hill 2 remake that the devs, Bloober Team, created but I know I will be hopping into this one. The time travel aspect is interesting to me and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.

Go check out some gameplay if you haven’t already.

Plants Versus Zombies: Replanted

Systems: Switch & Switch 2

Release Date: October 23rd

Being a fan of the original game and owning it on different platforms, I can’t say exactly how excited I was when I saw this announced. I’m going to be grabbing this day one for sure. If you haven’t seen the trailer, go watch that. I feel like the Switch (or Switch 2) will be a great system to play on.

Pokemon Legends Z-A

Systems: Switch & Switch 2

Release Date: October 16th

The more I see of this game, the more hyped I become. We just got new footage and it did a good job of making this game look even better than what I already thought it would be. The new active battle mechanics will make this feel more like Pokemon battles from the anime, which anyone who saw as a kid should be happy for. I’m a big fan of (paid link) Pokemon Legends Arceus, which you can find our review here, so I’m very eager to see what all this game has in store for us.

Kirby Air Riders

Systems: Switch 2

Release Date: November 20th

Before the Direct we had for this game just yesterday, I have to admit that I wasn’t all that interested. I’ve never owned the first game on the GameCube so I had no special bond with the game or fond memories to look back on. After seeing more footage, I’ve become much more curious how this game will go with all the different modes they’ve added. Coming off of (paid link) Mario Kart World, which you can find out review here, I wasn’t sure if I would care for another racing game but yet, I now want to play it for myself.

Conclusion

This list might be smaller than the year prior, but this list contains some great looking games I can’t wait to get my hands on. How about everyone else? Are these on your own lists?

That’s all for today and as usual, happy gaming everyone.
