Why do I keep buying indie games that I know may literally be worse than watching paint dry? I suppose I enjoy torturing myself so you guys don’t have to, but anyway, today I want to talk about Anime Girls Wasteland Shootout. This is a more recently released auto shooter that, well, let’s just talk about it.
Gameplay
This game operates automatically as you play through each stage. All you have to do is control your character’s movements and she’ll target the enemy and shoot. It isn’t difficult and the fun actually wears off after so long. Eventually, you reach a point where it’s all just the same. The stage locations recycle and once you max out your character and favorite gun, there isn’t much left to do.
There’s 4 guns to use and 3 characters. Each character has their own strengths stat that helps with their damage output. Each stage consists of 1-3 rooms to clear, and then the last stage in an area has a boss to defeat. Collecting gold in levels is how you upgrade your guns and characters.
Soundtrack
The music in this game is okay, but I honestly turn it off and listen to music while I play. It gets annoying with the only aounds being either the same music or the sounds of the gun firing.
Graphics
These aren’t anything special by any means of the word. They do the job, but I honestly wish their was more detail put into the stages since they all look like copies of each other.
Controls
These are simplistic and take little to no thinking. Just move with the left analog stick and confirm different actions with A or X depending on the platform you’re playing on. It’s much like any other auto shooter out there, such as Army of Ruin and Monster Panic.
Replayability
There really isn’t a reason to replay this after it is complete. It’s not boring, but it gets old quickly and the fun factor eventually wears off.

If I was you and I hadn’t already purchased Anime Girls Wasteland Shootout, I wouldn’t do it. Your money is better off spent elsewhere, especially at the ridiculous price of $5.99 on PSN. This is a game better left untouched.
