The last pickup blog for the year and what a year it has been. As we all gather around for Christmas this year, I hope we all just enjoy our time with our friends and family. With that said, let’s go ahead and talk about these December games I got.
Wii

Super Mario Galaxy 2
I’ve had this on my list to buy for a long time. For some reason, I just never found myself with a copy until now, and it was funny how it happened. I got this from a friend with two other games for a good deal. The same friend I got the other two games off of in last month’s pickups.
Switch

Anime Girls Wasteland Shootout
I already wrote a review for this game, so I’ll keep this short and sweet. I wouldn’t pay more than a couple of dollars for this one. If you want to know why, read the review, because I expand on that and much more.
Overheat: Kitchen Chaos
Are there any fans of Overcooked? Well, this is a clone of that. I’ve played about 4 levels and there’s definitely some challenges to it. There’s also some times where you feel as if you have nothing to do if you are playing with other players. It’s fun, but I’m still glad I got it for cheap.
Spellagis
I just published a review for this not too long ago, and yes, it is another roguelike auto-shooter, since we all know I can’t get away from them. This one is a pretty decent one too, and has some mechanics like Brotato, so definitely give it a look.
3DS

Pokemon Rumble World
I’ve always had the wrong idea about this title. I’ve been a fan of the Pokemon Rumble series since it made its debut on the Wii, but this title always confused me since they had sold a physical version and then had a free version on the eshop years ago. Well, finally figured out why.
You could get the free version and play it, but getting the diamonds needed to actually play the game was more difficult. It took longer to actually do anything. Knowing this, I was happy to get my copy and start this journey that I had limited experience with. So far, it’s been a fun one.
PS5

Lollipop Chainsaw: Re-Pop
This is a remake of the 2012’s Lollipop Chainsaw, which is fantastic since the prices for that version had gone up decently. I’ve only played about 10 minutes of this so far and had to even restart because the re-pop mode was not what I wanted. It changed the game’s blood into sparkles and took away the fun from it.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure
I considered not even including this game until next month, but I felt I should anyway. I haven’t had a chance to even install it yet, which is a real shame.
Steam

P4G
My friend and our fellow author Downs was kind enough to gift me this game. I previously owned it on the PS Vita but sold my copy sometime ago. I haven’t started this long journey yet, but one day.
Orbital Bullet
This is a 360 degree roguelike shooter that I didn’t know I needed. You start off on Orthun and have to work your way up floors until you beat that boss, then you hop to another planet and so forth and so on. If you die, you’re brought back to home base where you can choose a class, make upgrades to yourself and also get a random gun to start you new run off with. I’ve had a great time with this game so far, and the challenge is very real.
If you haven’t seen this game, it’s on the Switch and Steam. Go watch a trailer to find out more and also, despite what Steam says, it does work on a Steam Deck.
Thrive
I haven’t played but a minute of this. It seemed like a game I would need to really sit and have time to learn, which isn’t bad, but it isn’t easily doable at this moment in time.

Plastomorphosis
I’ve seen this on a few different storefronts now and pulled the trigger when I got it as part of a bundle. I’s a horror game, but that’s all I can say. I have not tried it yet.
No More Snow
I thought this looked interesting, but I’m yet to give it a try. Hopefully soon.
Eyes
I’ve seen bits of this game played before but I’ve never personally tried it. This is a horror game that revolves around the “collect X amount of this item to get free” trend that was popular at one point. Think of games like Slender: The Eight Pages.
Final Words
This has been a month full of good times, good games and I’m sure next year will have them too. Merry Christmas to everyone reading and look forward to next year. I’ll be having my best of 2024 pickups soon enough, much like how I did them for 2023, so look forward to that.
