I know, it’s been a while since I’ve done one of these. I’m excited to discuss what I’ve found though, since I’ve been on the lookout for most of these for a long time. Anyway, let’s go over this July book haul.

Marked, Betrayed & Chosen

“The House of Night series by bestselling authors P.C Cast and Kristin Cast is set in a world very much like our own, except in 16-year-old Zoey Redbird’s world, vampyres have always existed. In this first book in the series, Zoey enters the House of Night, a school where, after having undergone the Change, she will train to become an adult vampire–that is, if she makes it through the Change. Not all of those who are chosen do. It’s tough to begin a new life, away from her parents and friends, and on top of that, Zoey finds she is no average fledgling. She has been Marked as special by the vampyre Goddess, Nyx. But she is not the only fledgling at the House of Night with special powers. When she discovers that the leader of the Dark Daughters, the school’s most elite club, is misusing her Goddess-given gifts, Zoey must look deep within herself for the courage to embrace her destiny–with a little help from her new vampyre friends.”

These are the first three books in an awesome book series called House of Night. I found them at Goodwill for a dollar each, and had to grab them, despite already reading these before. I’m currently on the sixth book in the series.

“After a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever Bloom can see people’s auras, hear their thoughts, and know someone’s entire life story by touching them. Going out of her way to avoid human contact and suppress her abilities, she has been branded a freak at her new high school―but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste.

Damen is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy. He’s the only one who can silence the noise and random energy in her head―wielding a magic so intense, it’s as though he can peer straight into her soul. As Ever is drawn deeper into his enticing world of secrets and mystery, she’s left with more questions than answers. And she has no idea just who he really is―or what he is. The only thing she knows to be true is that she’s falling deeply and helplessly in love with him.”

When I bought this, I wasn’t even aware it was a series. The name sounded familiar, but I had no experience with it prior. Anyway, I guess now I’ll be potentially going down another rabbit hole.

Final Words

I don’t pick up books very often at the moment due to not having a lot of time to read. However, it’s been nice to grab these and to share them here. Maybe it will lead you to find a new book for yourself, but that’s all for this blog.
