These months just keep passing us by. I slowed down with my purchases in July, given that June had so many. With that said, I have some good game pickups to discuss something let’s hop in.
Switch

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water
I played this when it first released on the Wii U in 2015 and have enjoyed it every time I get back to it. Now I get to play on the Switch and enjoy that experience as well. I’m on the fifth drop right now so not too far in but having fun. Expect a review sometime in the future, much like I did for Fatal Frame II & Fatal Frame IV.

Digimon Survive
I bought this from the sale that went off on the 10th of this month. I’ve been wanting to start it over again, on the (paid link) Switch as I had it on the (paid link) PS4. I’m currently on part 4 and going pretty strong. I haven’t played as often the past few days due to a certain other game, which I’ll discuss below. However, this Digimon game is quite different than ones before it.
Digimon Survive mixes visual novel gameplay with strategy rpg. It’s pretty fun and the story keeps me on edge since this game doesn’t necessarily hold anything back. I’ll be doing a review and some other articles on this in the future.

Alan Wake Remastered
I’ve tried playing this game several times over the years since its release in 2012 but never got too, too far. I actually wasn’t aware the remastered version was on the Switch until I just accidently found it while doom scrolling the sale section. I have yet to try it yet.

Ayala Forgotten Realms
I thought this looked like a cute little adventure game and it was cheap. It will probably sit in my backlog for a few though.
Switch 2

Raidou Remastered
I never played the original on the PS2, but I have played a few Persona titles. Well, I got hooked on this pretty quick and was playing regularly. Alas, I had to choose to limit how many games I was actively playing and shelved this one for now. If you haven’t got a copy though, go grab yourself (paid link) one.
Donkey Kong Banaza
I got this the day after release and haven’t been able to put it down since. I know a lot of fans were not happy with Rare’s design being done away with but I personally feel this was a great new beginning for our furry friend. I’m nearing the end of the game it seems so expect a review in the very near future. Also, if you don’t already have a copy, go treat yourself over on (paid link) Amazon.

Survival Kids
I’ve already discussed this game a good bit in my review, but I have to say, I still have moments where I miss playing through it. If you’re still on the fence, I do encourage you to check out the trailer again. It’s great if you have people to play with.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
I gave in to all the hype behind this game and I’m very glad that I did. It’s been a blast and hopping between classes is extremely easy to do. I feel like this game has a ton of content to work with so it will keep me busy for a long time.

Shadow Labyrinth
I’m sure that many of us were skeptical when emo edgy Pac-Man shown up. However, I decided I had to give it a try for myself. It’s pretty fun and it might seem strange at first but the world and gameplay really has grown on me. I’m sure it will be a good while before I pop out a review but I’m happy so far.
GBA

Shantae Risky Revolution
This is a Shantae game that was lost to time until recently. This fits between the first Shantae title and Risky’s Revenge. I haven’t played any of it yet but I hope to do so soon.
Final Words
That’s it for this month. August isn’t shaping up to have a lot of pickups either, which I’m alright with since it gives me time to work on my backlog. Hope you all found a game for yourselves in here and as always, happy gaming.
