If you’ve been on the internet since the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, you have, more than likely, seen the hate. Not only for the system itself, but Mario Kart World and its cost. Look, I get it. $80 (USD) is a decent amount of money but we need to remember that gaming is a luxury.
I can already hear people raising their pitchforks and screaming, “You’re defending them!” and well, I can’t say exactly that I am but I also understand at the same time. this appears to be the largest Mario Kart title we have had to date, and it should be. There’s people pointing out that we’ve lost characters but we’ve gained others so I’m not sure what to really think yet. Alright, let’s really dive into the good this game has (or appears to).

Multiple Raceways
So, this hasn’t been confirmed but if you go and look at some of the Nintendo Treehouse footage for this game or even at what Nintendo shown during the Direct, there were moments where the game appeared to intertwine raceways. This means that cups may be able to be self made? This is speculation, but it was something to really consider given that the game isn’t just a linear passage and allows for an open world.
Many, Many Cups
This is another section that appears to be more speculation than a fact, but I thought I would mention it anyway. There appears to be many different cups in this game. Mario Kart 8 had a total of 24 cups and I would say this game looks like a good deal more. Only time will really tell. What I can say is that this game seems to be quite large and different than past entries so honestly, I think most people need to keep quiet and just see what comes.
Looking Ahead
We’re still early on into the news. I think we’ll definitely know a lot more after April 17th’s Mario Kart World Direct, which we will be covering tomorrow. We’re just going off of what we have seen up to this point. With that said, I can’t wait to get my hands on this game myself and I hope you guys are excited too. Until next time, happy gaming.
