Some PSVR games have gotten the PSVR 2 upgrade, but for many of them, they haven’t. With the new controllers, so much could be done with those older titles, and I plan to highlight a few of them.

Resident Evil 7

It’s a given that RE8 has been a success in VR, and many people were very hyped at the announcement. I’m happy for all those people, regardless that I haven’t played for myself yet. Looking back though, RE7 was a big deal for myself when playing VR. It actually got me back into the series, and I nearly finished the game. Imagine what could be done now with your hands, reloading, everything. The fear could be even greater.

Skyrim

Alright I’m not a huge Elder Scrolls fan, and by that, I mean I haven’t even played enough to care about any of them. However, I’m not blind to the fact that Skyrim in PSVR 2 would be a huge step up. Dual wielding weapons and spells with those controllers? Imagine how amazing that would be!

It would also offer a big adventure for gamers to take in VR, which I think is needed. We have some great games to spend time on, but I’d argue most are anywhere from 7-10 hours in length. That’s pretty nice, and it is a comfortable time, but VR needs those long play sessions too.

Astro Bot Rescue Mission

How could this fun, creative and cute platformer just be left in the dust? I mean, poor little guy is just begging to be PSVR’s mascot and they leave him to rot. Even if you plug in the first PSVR headset, you have to have a Dualshock 4 controller to even play, which was a sour surprise to me since I sold my PS4 and controller.

This game should absolutely get an upgrade. Not only so we can get improved visuals, but so old players can play this amazing game on current hardware.

Now I never did get the chance to play this on the OG PSVR, but I’d happily put time into today. With three different Wipeout games to choose from, I think racing in VR would be amazing. Even with us already having Gran Turismo 7.

Conclusion

While I’m well aware not all OG PSVR games will get an upgrade, I believe these titles definitely should. There’s probably a lot that really should in all fairness, but never will. I suppose only time will tell.
