After July’s Game Pickups, I knew I needed to cut bacn on how many I got to reach my goals for 2026. Now, I can definitely say this month was much better, more controlled and overall, I got games I seriously wanted. Let’s get started withy August 2026 Game Pickups.
PS3
Fear & Fear 2
I’ve had these one my mind for a while and I’m really glad I have a chance to play again. I’m currently working through the first game and really enjoying the atmosphere. When the Sony announcement behind physical games happened, PS3 games started to go up in price so I’m trying to get the ones I really want. Currently (paid link) Fear sits between $30-40, (paid link) Fear 2 is $15-30 depending on the copy and (paid link) Fear 3 is around $20.
Silent Hill HD Collection
I know all the bad rep this collection has. It also is solid rep at that as there are many flaws. However, I wanted to own this piece of gaming history plus I wanted to see just exactly how bad it gets. I have never once beaten a Silent Hill game, despite playing both (paid link) Silent Hill 2 & (paid link) Silent Hill 3 on the PS2 but never finishing them.
Need for Speed: Undercover
I’ve never been a big racing fan so NFS games were far and in between as a kid and they still are today. There are certain titles I liked, such as (paid link) Need for Speed: Carbon. They only got played for so long before they were dropped. I recently had an experience that reminded me of this game and that I did in fact play some of it in the past. Hence, why it is here.
The idea of going undercover to arrest some racers really caught my attention. I’m not far enough to say anything else, as my profile says I’m only 3% complete. However, stay tuned.
Switch
Blue Reflection Quartet
This is a recently released bundle game of four Blue Reflection titles. The first two full games, (paid links) Blue Reflection and (paid link) Blue Reflection: Second Light along with the gotcha mobile game turned full singleplayer and the anime, which has been turned into a game as well. I’m currently playing through the first game, so in order. I can say the Switch version has some very noticeable FPS drops during cutscenes. The gameplay is decent though, but it still caps at 30 FPS.
