If you happened to miss April’s pickups, go check that out. If you already have, then welcome to my May 2026 game pickups! I certainly got a few more games than last time but I kept it under the soft limit I set in my 2026 gaming goals. So, without further introduction, let’s begin.
Steam
Unforgiving A Northern Hymn
This looked like a fun horror title. I just never bothered to buy it on sale until now. Unfortunately this also means it will stay in my library for the three years until it gets played…kidding!! I plan to play sometime in the near future.
Root Letter
I bought this game when it originally released for the (paid link) PS Vita but ultimately sold it when I got rid of most of my collection. I’ve also had the (paid link) Switch version at one point as well but I found myself without any copy of it until now. This has always been a visual novel that really interested me so maybe I’ll make a point to start it soon.
Supernormal
I haven’t played a game that used mic mechanics in a while but when I saw this go on sale for very cheap, I thought I would give it a shot. Unfortunately I am yet to start but maybe soon, given I am in need of something different. You can check out the game for yourself here.
Resident Evil 8
I bought this again because I plan to do a let’s play for it. You can find those on this channel very soon. You can also find my review for the (paid link) Switch 2 version. I like this game quite a bit, even though the fanbase is divided.
Forza Horizon 6
I haven’t given a Forza game a proper try in a long time. My nephew has been loving it and I decided to buy my own copy so he and I wouldn’t have any struggles given we are in a family on Steam. This has been a blast to get into and I’m having fun both in events and just running around the map exploring. If you’re a Steam player or an (paid link) Xbox player, you can’t go wrong with this.
Switch
Ys Memoire Revelations in Celceta
I already own the (paid link) PS4 version of Ys: Memories of Celceta but I couldn’t pass up getting a (paid link) Switch version. I haven’t started it yet but I will soon enough. Given that I had already started Ys X: Proud Noridcs on the (paid link) Switch 2, I feel I should go back to it first.
Nun of Your Business
I was skeptical of this because it seemed like such a bad game. Low effort, low quality, you know it. However, in my search to find a game I could play on and off, I bought it. Did it disappoint? Surprisingly, no. It isn’t a great game but it’s at least a little fun to try to survive. Even if it does have some glitches.
Switch 2
Yoshi and the Mysterious Book
I wasn’t sure what to expect from the trailers we saw but this game delivers on so much. It’s less stressful than (paid link) Yoshi’s Island, Wooly World or any other Yoshi titles that you could be defeated. Instead it focuses on exploration and just having fun. I like that about this game, a lot. They really made a game that adults and kids alike can enjoy playing and just enjoying the adventure. You should grab a (paid link) copy if you’ve been on the fence, it’s more than worth it.
TMNT Splintered Fate
I honestly bought this because it was on sale for real cheap. From what I know, people have been comparing it to (paid link) Hades, which was a selling point for myself. I plan to give it a try in the nearby future.
Conclusion
I managed to keep it under 10 games this month so I’m doing pretty well I believe. I’m staying with my goal decently at this point and I plan to continue that.
