In an article I wrote back in December, going over Team Cherry’s update for Silksong DLC, we also covered that Hollow Knight would be coming to the Nintendo Switch 2. Now back then, we didn’t know when that would be. Well, surprise! It came out two days ago.

Free Upgrade for Switch Owners

The best news was that this is a free upgrade for people who already own Hollow Knight on the Switch. I was one of those people, so I’ve already downloaded it and continued my save from when I was playing it about two months ago. If you do not already own the game though, you can buy it for $15.

How Does it Look?

Well, here is a side by side comparison photo:

Truthfully I can see a slight difference. I can’t say it’s exactly ground breaking but the game isn’t exactly a center piece in an art collection either. So overall? The changes we do notice are nice and will be appreciated, I’m sure.

Physical Copies

Alright so you don’t have an actual Switch 2 release but you can buy a (paid link) physical and just upgrade that on the eshop. It would be nice if they released a physical combination of Hollow Knight and Silksong but I don’t have a lot of hope for it. Who’s to say for certain though.

Conclusion

Will you be playing this again or maybe for the first time? Already own it or is now your time to shine? I look forward to getting back into it and trying my hand again. Keep track of my Games I’m Playing articles to keep tabs on my progress. You can also check out this article about how playing Silksong may have tainted (and enhanced) my Hollow Knight playthrough.

Until next time, happy gaming.
