With the purchase of the (paid link) refurbished Switch Lite, which I discussed here, I also bought a case for it. I typically don’t do this but I thought it might be a fun product to review. So let’s get started.
Durability
I haven’t quite tested the case in terms of an actual drop test, but I feel like the rubber casing would offer some protection. However, not for extended amounts of time. This meaning, if you drop your system often, you may want to look elsewhere. Also, as far as the screen goes, it feels incredibly cheap. If you were to drop something on it, I don’t see much protection. Especially if the said object was sharp. I’m also not going to try this to find out though.
Ease of Use
The actual casing around the Switch makes some actions a bit difficult. I found that while you can swap out physical games, it isn’t what I would call the easiest since the case and the game slot are so close that if the case isn’t perfectly on the system, it covers it. There’s also the fact that the power and volume buttons have a very soft press when it comes to the casing. To expand on this, you don’t really feel yourself hit them, so it’s only evident by either the system turning off or on and the volume going up or down.
There isn’t only negatives though. The positives to this case is it is very simple to hold and play with. My hands don’t cramp from use, which sometimes they did when used for extended period of using the Lite system itself.
With that said, there is one major negative I feel I absolutely have to talk about. The case is majorly difficult to put on, in my opinion. I struggled with it massively trying to get it to pop into place correctly and it is equally a pain to get off. The worst part about that is if a hair or dust gets into it, and on the screen, it becomes a big annoyance to remove every little bit and clean.
Scores:
Durability: 4/10
Ease of Use: 2/10

Final Thoughts
If you’re on the lookout for a case, I don’t think this is the one for you. Now others seem to like this, which the Amazon reviews are the reason I chose it to begin with, but it wasn’t for me. Check it out (paid link) here if you want to.
Be on the lookout for other Nintendo Switch Lite case reviews in the future. For now, signing off. Happy gaming!
