Monster Panic: 5 Favorite Weapons

I think most people who play any type of roguelikes have their favorite weapons. Those ones that you search for and are happy to discard your current setup for. I know I’ve done this too many times to count, and that goes the same for Monster Panic. Certain weapons just match my play style more than others.

That’s why I’m going to be sharing my thoughts on what I believe to be my favorite weapons, while also stating that I do not exactly believe these to be the best, because I also believe every one has their own way of playing. So, without any further discussion, let’s hop in.

Bomb

I’ll go ahead and start with probably my absolute favorite and an easy choice. The bomb is exactly what it should be, a bomb. It blows up within a certain radius and destroys enemies. One of the best aspects of the bomb is that you can do upgrades that give it a wider radius, and also the ability to release more of them at one time. All weapons actually have the ability to upgrade how much they put out, but the radius is bomb exclusive.

Fist of the Tathagata

This is a bit of a waiting game, because it takes a long time to cool down after using and the starting range is pretty small. However, if you put the upgrades into it, this weapon can become quite massive and could potentially be used every 10-13 seconds. It could even pick up the EXP dropped too.

Flying Sword

This is exactly as it sounds like, a flying sword. It takes off and cuts through so many enemies before disappearing. With upgrades it can produce more swords and go through more enemies at a time. My favorite upgrade is the summoning sword, as it not only sends out swords from the character, but it brings them to the character.

Earthquake Wave

This weapon sends out waves around you, like shockwaves you could say, that damages enemies and also provides knockback. With upgrades, you can make it provide further knockback, more damage and also even have double impact. That specific upgrade shoots the waves from two directions opposite of each other compared to how it usually just shoots from one direction.

Little Dragon Fort

This was one of the first weapons I chose when I started playing. It summons a dragon who shoots fire balls out of its mouth towards your enemies. It does not move, but it can be very useful. With upgrades, you can cut back on the cool down, how many dragons appear at once and how much damage they do.

There’s another weapon like this that uses dogs, but I can’t say I’m as fond of it as I am the dragons.

Conclusion

There are plenty of combinations that can be made between weapons and accessories. What I’ve listed are merely my favorite weapons, and it also does not mean I won’t use the others as well. With all of this said, we each have our own play style and encourage anyone playing any roguelike to find what best suits them.
