Fans of auto shooters, come here and learn of a new and cheap game you can grab right now! Okay, really, we’re going to review it and then you can decide if it’s worth it to you. The game in question is called Cat Survivors, it’s on the Nintendo Switch and it’s also $4.99, which is a pretty okay price. Let’s get into it.
Gameplay
As usual, we’ll start with what’s most important in these games, the gameplay. It’s your pretty standard loop of living for as long as you can, with each level up offering an upgrade to an existing weapon or obtaining a new one. There’s also other items, like accessories, basically, that give you boosted pickup range, health regeneration and such.
The longer you survive, the more bosses you’ll face and that’s where most of your money comes from. The money can be used to either upgrade your stats at the start screen or purchase starting spells. There’s also challenges, which, if completed, unlock new weapons or accessories.
Graphics
These aren’t any special, and they even take a dip as more characters appear on screen. The whole game actually shows down on occasion. It can be annoying.
Music
It isn’t anything special and I would say 98% of my time playing was spent with earbuds in.
Controls
There’s really nothing to this, as you’ll be walking with the left analog stick and that’s it. You can pause the game with the plus button and also make selections from the main and pause menus with A.
Replayability
Although this game is much like Army of Ruin, Vampire Survivors and others of the genre, it isn’t what I call a game I would find myself coming back to. In about 7 hours or less, you can have everything unlocked and done with.

Final Words
Cat Survivors is pretty simplistic in its design, and there are definitely more in-depth auto-shooters out there that you could play. However, if you’ve played a few of them already, this will at least give you a nice 3-7 hours worth of game time depending on how you do.
