Pokemon has been an iconic franchise for years. There’s so many things they’ve taken over from video games, anime, cafes, collectibles, clothing, and many more. Out of everything I just posted off, none of that would even be possible today without the success of the video games. So what can we expect out of tomorrow’s Pokemon Presents?

Pokemon Presents Predictions

Pokemon has been at its strongest if a new game or an expansion is announced or acknowledged. I’m calling it now, but they are going to announce a timeframe for Pokemon Z-A. They’ll also show the three starter Pokemon and how the world has evolved from previous games.

Another thing I’m predicting is they will announce more info on a Pokemon spinoff game. This will be exciting news, but the main problem will be that they will talk about it, but no release date. I’m going to say that the gameplay might be too vague to understand or it will be a cryptic teaser.

The last prediction I will give is they will not give us release dates for any of these projects they talk about, but they’ll give a time range of when they will come out.  My wild guess is there will be one shadow drop game that is released now or within a month. Either this will happen or they will announce something no one guesses. Like a fun announcement would be the rumored multiplayer spinoff for the streamlined Pokemon game series.

Finally, I’ll share my thoughts on the rumors of two different compilations of Pokemon games that might be announced during this press event.

The Rumored Re-Releases

Well, although I think the idea of compilation games is exciting, my main annoyance is why would you split them? I would just charge a modest price based on how games are priced in this current era, but put all the classic Pokemon games you can’t get anymore and make them more accessible than they are now.

Another thing I’m wondering about is if the games will be remakes or just a re-release of the games. The only main benefits I see of releasing these games again are it will help tank the third party market for sellers and game preservation. It’s important to preserve games that are dispersing if they are more than ten years old.

I know this is a smaller press event for Nintendo, but this show is the best opportunity for them to solidify their foothold in the Pokemon universe with a big innovation. I don’t want my expectations too high, but at the very least, I think they should show full gameplay or a story trailer for Pokemon ZA. Give us another reason to pay attention again for Pokemon, even if it’s bringing in the new fans.

Multiplayer is a component too big to ignore, so they should introduce a new way to play with others online.

Overall, I think this conference will be fun. Pokemon is a franchise that endures and innovates, if it’s with baby steps.
