I’ve been a long time Digimon fan since the first season aired on TV. I remember the pilot episode, and being so eager as a kid for the next one to finally arrive. After all this time, I still love the show and the games, so I was also eager to see this new season. Let’s hop into this Digimon Ghost Game review.
Number of Episodes
67
Story:
After Hiro’s father disappears suddenly, he’s left with many questions until something randomly shows up at his school dorm and changes his whole reality. In a world where Holograms are a part of daily life, there are such beings known as Hologram Ghosts. These are actually Digimon who are appearing the real world.
Soon Hiro is joined by two other Digidestined, though they never were referred to as such, and an adventure like no other begins. It is unfortunate though that the ending felt rushed in a sense, and some storylines disappeared. Digimon that I felt would play a bigger role later turned out to not, and it was a little disappointing.
Characters:
I feel as if we did get some decent characters, but little character growth was shown in my opinion. It would have been nice to have seen something. With that said, all of them were likable.
Pacing:
This is where I think the show falls a little flat. A lot of the anime was, more or less, happy go lucky with simple solutions and misunderstandings between the Digimon who didn’t understand the human world. Then it suddenly got serious, talking about how they needed to find out what was really happening in the Digital World itself. This, may I add, lasted all of maybe 5 episodes at max. Their adventure there did not last long, and the ending still didn’t leave any serious feelings.
Scores:
Story: 7/10
Characters: 7/10
Animation: 7/10
Overall:

Conclusion:
While Digimon Ghost Game is not the best the series has to offer, it definitely it worth watching! The woven in moments of spookiness and horror themes were done so well, and it deserves attention. Overall, this may not be my number one in the series, but out of all of them, it’s pretty high on the list.
